Perfect for special occasions, milestone birthdays, or luxurious family getaways, "Makai Luxury Lodge" comfortably accommodates up to 10 guests in four elegantly appointed bedrooms, each offering stunning coastal views. The master suite, situated at the eastern end of the home, features underfloor heating, a king-size bed, and a striking concrete bath positioned to maximize the scenic outlook. The generous ensuite includes dual concrete hand basins, a spacious shower, a separate toilet, and a bidet (bathroom amenities provided).

Additional sleeping arrangements include two king bedrooms and one room with two sets of bunk beds. A sofa bed in the games room offers extra flexibility. A second, spacious bathroom features a bath, shower, toilet, and vanity (bathroom amenities provided).

  What a stunning place! The way it is set up is perfect for a weekend away. The pool was beautiful and the beds were so comfortable, best sleep I have had in a long time. The only criticism that I have was that they either need to update the aircon (evaporative) or have some extra fans available to move air around. The heat with the glass windows was nearly unbearable at times but could be easily fixed. Would definitely love to stay again!

  “Luxury” level was a touch off expectations. The home itself is beautiful, incredible views and the location so peaceful. The place wasn’t overly clean, very dusty windowsills and cobwebs through the windows, windows a bit grubby. No pantry staples. Poor quality toilet paper. Overall we loved our stay, but a few areas to finesse to reach that “luxury” stay.

  The house was amazing! Walking through the wooden doors was like walking into a beautiful Bali retreat! The views were incredible.
  The house provided almost everything you could need. A bigger fridge for the 4 nights with 10 people would of been handy. Make sure you take fridge/freezers or at the least eskies as we had no room to chill any alcohol in the fridge. But we did have our eskies that we took food up in thankfully.
  Also there is only 1 main bathroom.
  The other is a part of the master bedroom. Although it is sectioned off there are no doors on the toilet nor the doorway that opens up to the toilet. You really need to be comfortable with your guests and partner as it doesn’t not muffle out any “noises”!! This will stop us returning unfortunately as it did become an issue with guests not feeling comfortable to use the ensuite while the bedroom was being used.
  Some lovely doors at each end of the walkway to the bedroom would do the trick! Let us know if this happens and we shall be back in a heartbeat!
  But overall an amazing location and property. We had a blast!

  Great location, views and amenities. We had a mixed group ranging from 7 to 85 years old and all were well catered for; the kids loved the games room and pool. The kitchen was very well stocked with all you needed for cooking up a storm; bathrooms and bedrooms were clean and comfortable (sofa bed, not so much). A couple of minor things - the steps into the house were not captured in the description of the house and are a bit challenging for those a bit older, as is the gate over the cattle grid. The property management were helpful and prompt in sorting out any issues we had.

  An extremely striking accommodation venue. Set on a hill overlooking Middleton and Goolwa, the view is spectacular. The home is architecturally designed with floor to ceiling windows, and the master bedroom is breathtaking. The kitchen contained every utensil you could need, plenty of crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, platters and coffee machine options. There was also an abundance of toilet paper, clearly the owners have attended to previous reviews. The swimming pool is beautiful with the majority of our stay spent either in the pool or alongside it. The pool does require some maintenance, however this did not prevent usage. Another refrigerator would be of benefit, especially when self catering for 10 people, however this is not a deal breaker. Overall, our stay was the perfect way to celebrate my fathers significant birthday and I would stay again.

  Having grown up in the Adelaide Hills as well as having read all reviews from 2019 and 2020 I felt comfortable with what I was walking into.
  Rural properties attract millipedes. They are present around the perimeter of the property and were in the pool but tolerable for us. About a dozen make their way inside each day.
  I spent 30 mins weeding around the pool when we arrived. All of the pavers have cracked grouting so these will be an ongoing issue. The pool deck could’ve used a couple of deck chairs.
  All cleaning products were available and well stocked. The house is starting to show its age and could do with a little ‘lipstick’ (outside paint etc). Many of the outside lights weren’t working.
  Our main concern was that the pool solar heater was broken. Even on Boxing Day (30c) the pool was ice cold. Unfortunately phone calls (7 total) to the after hours number for the managing agent went unanswered so we didn’t use the pool for the entire stay.
  A huge waste of money as this was the key reason we chose this property as we have a 6 and 3 year old who love to swim.
  My reporting of this issue has still gone unacknowledged.
  It is a nice property with incredible views. If you are expecting a 10/10 based on price then you will be disappointed. It’s perfect if you are happy spending 10k for a week on a 7/10 property.
